“…I heard it from the many Jews who demanded, indeed pleaded for a “balanced” picture, who wanted “equal time” for consideration of the violence from Palestinians that presumably creates the basis for Israeli retaliation in its various forms.
But the situation is not balanced.
Palestine is being destroyed. Israel has all the power. The Palestinian people — a good, patient people — are being ground into the dirt, their leaders killed, imprisoned or exiled, their young people impoverished and robbed of a future. Any possibility for nonviolent protest is made all but impossible by a brutal military occupation.
We are doing wrong. We have blood on our hands. Yes, there have been Palestinians who have perpetrated acts of violence. But we must look to the cause…”

Carlos Castaneda.

Greek riots continue. Plenty of different opinons. Different informations. Misunderstandings, manipulations. The system is ready to shape reality, and does it well. The system is strong. And we are afraid.
Think whatever you like, someway were are still free to think. I dont believe all this mess is just a bunch of criminals breaking the streets. I dont believe youngsters with unhappy lifes are the only explanation, as some may say. There must be somethig more.

MAT they call them. 19 to 20 something of age. The worse students of the police school are assigned to be in the MAT team. There they are in their round white helmets squeezing their lightweight brains. Only moments earlier they emptied their tear gas ammo around the corner. It was an order. Them resting there is also an order. Obeyed.
Anarchists they call them. 14 to any age. Wear black masks. Break banks, franchise shops and expensive cars. They built their fortress around the educational institutes, put on fires to neutralise tear gas. Students mostly, here just outside the ASOEE, the most prestigious school of economics of the country. Raise their voice against the police that abuse power and misuse their weapons and shot a teenager on Saturday the 6th of December.
Riot they call it. A society enraged. Anarchists versus the police and the wealthy. Police versus anarchists, citizens, immigrants. Immigrants versus police and the wealthy. Citizens versus immigrants. Fascists versus immigrants. Anarchists versus the fascists. Fires, tear gas, stones, broken windows. When things are over it seems to me there are two possible ways to rebuilt not only buildings but consciousness as well: “Make it as good as it was before” or “Make it new and better than before”.
Humans they call them.

The world is complex. Its impossible to understand why does shit happen. We are ignorants.
Its too intricate. We are so small… and we have our own big problems. Yes, we better let it be.
There is nothing we can do. We are just consumers. We eat the corpse of the earth, the flesh of our own brothers and sisters, white fat blind maggots we are.
As long as there is something left to consume, lets not bother. While the meat is still warm and tasty, why bother?.
Lets be a name in a credit card. Lets be lone, simple, silent. We wont get uptight about all the sad things that surround us, they are not of our business. There are plenty of nice things to make us forget.
Yes!: just yesterday i saw a new offer, brand new cell phone, with a great thousand million pixels camera to shoot my own stupid and ignorant face. I will get it, and throw away my perfectly-working-but-too-old phone.
And i will do it without checking what happens in the not so Democratic Republic of the Congo since 1998.
I will not talk through my new phone about the 4 million people that died there, and about the ones that are suffering now.
I will love my new phone, and listen to music with it, maybe some nice african rythms.
And please, dont tell me my phone has coltan in it. Dont tell me a country is being pulled apart so we can have these electronic technological dream drugs that we enjoy so much.
When i have it, i will send an sms to all my friends, a photo of my face.
And i will anxiously expect an answer from them, so i can feel i am not alone in this pleasent frenzy of self destruction.
